On to the Breeders’ Cup This Weekend at Del Mar / Friday, October 24, 2025

West Point Thoroughbreds’ three Breeders’ Cup contenders are on the scene for the World Championships, to be contested on Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 at Del Mar. 

Intricate Spirit has shipped West from New York for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1) for trainer Miguel Clement. Winner of the Grade 3 Futurity Stakes at Aqueduct, he will have Hall of Famer Joel Rosario aboard with post 6, listed at 12-to-1 on the morning line. 

Vahva shipped from Kentucky to California on Monday for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1). Irad Ortiz Jr. has the call, seeking his fifth triumph in the Filly and Mare Sprint. Vahva drew post 3 and is 12-to-1 for the Filly and Mare Sprint. 

Super Corredora will step up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), on the heels of an 8-length maiden win for trainer John Sadler. Hector Berrios has the call with post 8 of 9. She is listed at 15-to-1.
