Girl Dad Drives Clear at Tampa Bay Downs / Friday, April 9, 2021

Girl Dad aced his trip to Tampa on Wednesday, pouring it on in the stretch for a 2-length win as the heavy favorite underneath jockey Hector Diaz Jr.

Ironically given the name, Girl Dad is a 3-year-old gelding. He won for the second time in his last three starts for trainer George Weaver.

George said, “He’s a fun, consistent horse. We’ll keep him down at Palm Beach Downs for the near future until we pick out his next race. He’s really happy at PBD, as he gets to be outside in the paddock for most of the day.”

West Point campaigns Girl Dad with Rick Pitino’s RAP Racing and Danned Racing.
