At the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in England, the West Point team secured a colt bred for both brilliance and depth, by Blue Point (IRE) out of Celeste de La Mer (IRE)—a family packed with Group-level performers and proven milers.
Blue Point, a world champion sprinter by Shamardal, earned dual Royal Ascot victories in 2019 when capturing both the King’s Stand Stakes (G1) and Diamond Jubilee Stakes (G1) in the same week—a feat unmatched in modern times. Winner of four Group 1s in total, he retired to stud at Darley and has quickly become one of Europe’s most talked-about young stallions. A current headliner is Blue Point’s son Rosallion, an elite 2-year-old who continued on as a 3-year-old to win a classic race in Ireland along with the St. James’s Palace Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot.
The colt’s dam, Celeste de La Mer (IRE), is already the producer of Maritime Wings (IRE) (by Gleneagles), a Group 2- and Group 3-placed performer in Ireland who finished second in the Futurity Stakes (G2) and Tyros Stakes (G3) at the Curragh.
The deeper female family traces to Dockage, one of the foundation mares of the modern Aga Khan program and ancestress of numerous elite runners, including Rail Link (winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1)), Crossharbour (G2), Chelsea Manor (G3), and Mainsail (G3).
He will be trained by Miguel Clement, whose precision horsemanship and success with European-bred turf performers make him ideally suited to guide this colt’s development.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2027.
