West Point is proud to partner in an elite investment fund created to acquire well-bred colts at the prestigious Saratoga and Keeneland yearling sales. Each colt was hand-selected by world-class bloodstock agent David Ingordo and will be developed under the guidance of multiple Grade 1-winning trainer Cherie DeVaux.
Each horse is syndicated individually, with West Point maintaining a 15% ownership position in every colt within the fund. This structure provides Partners with rare access to blue-chip prospects while offering the opportunity to diversify their equine portfolios strategically.
The West Point team secured a colt by Practical Joke, one of the most consistent sires in North America and a stallion already making a global impact. A multiple Grade 1 winner on the track, Practical Joke earned nearly $1.8 million while capturing the Champagne Stakes (G1), Hopeful Stakes (G1), and H. Allen Jerkens Stakes (G1). In the breeding shed, he has passed along his brilliance and versatility, siring 48 black-type winners and more than $47 million in progeny earnings to date. His runners include Grade 1 winners Domestic Product, Practical Move, and Ways and Means.
The colt’s female family is deep with quality. His dam, Flout (by Speightstown, broodmare sire of recent grade one winner Deterministic) is out of Dreaming of Liz, a multiple graded stakes winner of over $270,000, including the Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes (G3).
The colt will be trained by Cherie DeVaux, who has quickly risen to the top ranks of conditioners with a Breeders’ Cup win to her credit. She conditions several stakes quality horses for West Point, including grade one winner Vahva and stakes winners Northern Invader and Reagan’s Wit.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2027.
