January Heating Up With Pegasus World Cup Turf, Southwest Stakes / Wednesday, January 22, 2025

January 25 will be a red-hot day for West Point Thoroughbreds with two chances in one of America’s top grass races and an exciting 3-year-old taking another step on the Kentucky Derby trail.

West Point, co-owner Woodford Racing and Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey have a tandem for Saturday’s Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf at Gulfstream with Integration and Battle of Normandy.

Integration is coming off a victory in the Grade 2 Red Smith at Aqueduct and is listed as the 3-to-1 second choice with legendary jockey Frankie Dettori. Battle of Normandy is riding a 4-race win streak, most recently in the Grade 3 River City Stakes at Churchill. Jose Ortiz has the mount.
