Jaxon Traveler Takes to a Different Surface at Woodbine / Friday, June 18, 2021

2yo in training purchase Jaxon Traveler scores in the Bachelor Stakes at Oaklawn Park on April 24.

Jaxon Traveler has shipped to Toronto for an interesting challenge north of the border on Sunday in the $125,000 Woodstock Stakes for 3-year-old sprinters on Woodbine’s synthetic Tapeta track. Maryland’s reigning juvenile champion, Jaxon Traveler is 4-for-6 lifetime but he has never raced on anything but dirt.

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Jaxon Traveler did work well on the all-weather track at the OBS sale last June.

The bay colt will take on two spring stakes winners for Wesley Ward: Outadore, who captured the Animal Kingdom Stakes on the Tapeta track at Turfway, and Chasing Artie, winner of the Palisades Turf Sprint after missing the break at Keeneland.
