Lion of Justice earned TDN Rising Star honors in a debut tour-de-force on Saturday, leading home a trio of new winners for West Point Thoroughbreds over the weekend.

A 3-year-old colt by leading sire Into Mischief, Lion of Justice poured it on over the mile trip at Colonial Downs to score by 6 1/2 lengths for trainer Brad Cox. His time of 1:33.87 was just a shade off the track record. TDN report

Flavien Prat guided Lion of Justice, who notched a 92 Beyer and will be a stakes candidate next time out.

A few minutes before Lion of Justice announced his presence, Absolutely Hot starred on the turf at Gulfstream Park, rallying late to prevail as the even-money favorite in his third career start.

Junior Alvarado piloted Absolutely Hot for trainer Dale Romans. Absolutely Hot has thrived this winter at Gulfstream, switching to the turf and finishing second on February 16 and following with this graduation.

On Sunday, Rebel Moon moved straight to the winner’s circle at Oaklawn, acing his debut with a terrific ride from Ricardo Santana Jr. for the Brad Cox barn.
