Mademoisellejackie showed the way and lasted in deep stretch Sunday, digging deep to fend off a final challenge and score a breakthrough win at Gulfstream Park.

Stretching out to 9 furlongs on the turf, Mademoisellejackie was able to exploit her tactical speed and save something for the finish with a big assist from Joel Rosario to prevail by a neck.

Trainer Christophe Clement went in confident that extra distance would be key for Mademoisellejackie, who had placed three times going a mile and a sixteenth.

West Point campaigns the 3-year-old daughter of American Pharoah with racing partners Chris Larsen and Scarlet Oak Racing. She was acquired as a yearling at Keeneland September.
