Purchased at the 2025 OBS April 2-Year-Old in Training Sale, Counting Stars made an immediate impact, breaking her maiden at first asking for Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse in September 2025. She continued her rise through the winter at Oaklawn Park, winning three stakes races between December 2025 and March 2026, highlighted by a victory in the $1,000,000 Fantasy Stakes (G2), one of the premier prep races for the Kentucky Oaks. Earlier in the meet, she also delivered a strong runner-up finish in the Honeybee Stakes (G2).

Counting Stars is a top contender for the 2026 Kentucky Oaks, run Friday night, May 1 at Kentucky Downs. She will be ridden by regular pilot Francisco Arrieta.
