Trained by Cherie DeVaux, Gun Runner filly Vahva captured the $750,000 Charles Town Oaks (G3) in August 2023 and the $350,000 Lexus Raven Run Stakes (G2 at Keeneland in October 2023.

She returned as a 4-year-old to finish second in the Madison (G1) at Keeneland before becoming a grade one winner in the Derby City Distaff on Derby Day at Churchill Downs. That summer, she extended her unbeaten streak (4-for-4) at Churchill with a victory in the Grade 3 Chicago Stakes.

Vahva made it back-to-back wins in the Chicago Stakes, scoring in the 2025 edition. She then finished her career with a second-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) before selling for $3.1 million at the Keeneland November Sale.
