Top of the stretch in the Kentucky Derby, and you realize your horse is coming on strong. O Besos, oh what a feeling.
O Besos gave us that unbelievable thrill Saturday in the Kentucky Derby. At 40-to-1 odds, he didn’t quite get there–he got just a little tired in deep stretch and finished fifth, beaten 5 lengths for the roses–but he sure did show up and show that he belonged.
“We’re so proud of our horse,” trainer Greg Foley said, summing things up quite well. “He came out of things good and we’ll see what plans are next. It’s been a fun road to get to the Derby. We had a real chance and our horse showed up.”
