Pillar of Beauty Is Exquisite in Debut Win at Gulfstream / Friday, January 9, 2026

A beautiful thing as Pillar of Beauty was ready to pounce in her debut on December 20, powering away to win impressively.

Junior Alvarado said, “She broke well and was tactical, put herself right there, but she still had a good sprinting kick turning for home and was very professional. Very professional. She stayed between horses. She was good. When I came through on the inside, I mean, she just went on like an older filly there. Yeah, good mind. Very good mind.”

West Point and co-owner William Sandbrook acquired Pillar of Beauty this past spring at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of two-year-olds in training.

The filly galloped out nicely, and Junior suspects more distance could be in her future. For now, though, Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott sees her taking on winners in another turf sprint in early February at Gulfstream.
