Reagan’s Wit, Revolutionnaire Tackle Columbia at Tampa / Friday, March 7, 2025

West Point Thoroughbreds will have two chances with Reagan’s Wit and Revolutionnaire on Saturday in the $100,000 Columbia Stakes for 3-year-olds on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs.

Reagan’s Wit is stepping up after roaring to an 8-length maiden win on January 20 at Fair Grounds. He finished second last August at Ellis Park in his lone start as a 2-year-old. Red-hot jockey Jose Ortiz retains the mount on the chestnut colt with white splashed across his face. A Keeneland September yearling sale acquisition, he is pegged at 3-to-1 on the morning line.

Revolutionnaire, listed at 4-to-1, is a gray import from France, making his American debut for trainer Christophe Clement and Hall of Fame jockey Joel Rosario.

As a 2-year-old, he raced six times at five different French tracks, compiling two wins and three placings, including a third-place finish in the Prix la Rochette (G3). In October in Paris, Christophe acquired him at the Arc sale of horses in training, on behalf of West Point and Winters Equine.
