West Point Thoroughbreds is pleased to welcome Robert Lee to the team as an Ownership Advisor. A longtime broadcaster for ESPN, Robert has a lifelong passion for Thoroughbred racing and a deep connection to the sport.

“I’m excited to join the West Point team and look forward to meeting the many Partners, horses, and people that make the West Point family so special,” Robert said.

Robert was the original host of Racing Across America for Capital OTB. Broadcasting from the Saratoga backstretch, he interviewed many of the sport’s biggest names, including Shug McGaughey, Steve Asmussen, and legendary race caller Tom Durkin.

A graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, Lee has called college football and basketball for ESPN networks nationwide and is the longtime play-by-play voice of Siena men’s basketball.

Robert’s love of racing dates back to childhood trips to River Downs in his hometown of Cincinnati, where a winning $2 wager on a longshot named Bravoure sparked a passion that has lasted a lifetime.

Saratoga has also played an important role in his personal life. He and his wife, Victoria, had their first date at the Spa before marrying in 2008, and today their two children have been attending the races there since before they could walk.

A lifelong horseplayer, Robert counts Easy Goer and Cavorting among his favorite racehorses and looks forward to helping Partners enjoy the ownership experience.
