Strong Stipulation made his first start since October a winning one, with a polished score for trainer Graham Motion in an allowance race over the weekend at Delaware Park.
“Stippy” broke well and sat just of the pacesetters in the early going. The five horse made a strong move going into the turn, but Alex Cintron stayed patient before splitting horse at the top of the stretch. The son of Lemon Drop Kid made a bold move and proved best.
“As a 3-year-old he put up a few pretty good efforts, but we always thought there was more in the tank,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “After he ran poorly at Laurel in the fall, Graham and our team decided to ‘send him home’ for the winter and let him mature. Kip Elser did an excellent job legging him up over the winter and we’re excited for the rest of the year with him. Graham’s said all along he thought this horse would be best as a four-year-old and beyond.”
