SOLD OUT IN MINUTES – THANK YOU
We’ve been involved with this colt since he was born at Lane’s End Farm in May of 2023. And we were tickled to buy out a breeding partnership to get him into the racing stable, joining two half brothers who both won their career debuts at age 2 and have gone on to earn stakes credentials.
As a May foal, this colt was cut out to be late developer and that is exactly what he has done the last few weeks, thriving right around the time the leaves began to turn colors in the bluegrass. He is still on the immature side physically, but at a very reasonable price our buying team saw this as a terrific value play.
This will be the first chance for West Point to campaign a son or daughter of Essential Quality, who is from the Tapit sire line that has been so good to WPT through the likes of Flightline, Carson’s Run and Ring Weekend.
The colt is from the first crop of Essential Quality, who was a champion at both 2 and 3 on the racetrack, with the distinction as the only horse to win both the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) and the Belmont Stakes (G1). He retired with eight wins in 10 career starts and $4,905,144 in earnings.
The dam Adorable Miss was a stakes winner herself and her first three foals to race have all been stakes quality. West Point continues to enjoy the success of Cugino, who captured the $275,000 Audubon Stakes in May, as well as older sibling Battle of Normandy, who hit the board in Graded stakes at 2 and 3 and has been on a roll as a 4-year-old with three straight wins, leading up to a scheduled start in November in a Grade 3 at Churchill Downs.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2026.
