Les Reys has had a trip to Toronto on her itinerary for a few weeks now, aiming for Saturday’s Grade 3 Ontario Fashion Stakes at Woodbine, and this week she picked up a travel mate when trainer Miguel Clement decided to also send along Gal in a Rush. They are the top two choices on the morning line for the Ontario Fashion at 6 furlongs on the Tapeta track.
Gal in a Rush (5-to-2 with jockey Sahin Civaci) emboldened Miguel with how well she has trained, looked and eaten coming off a breakthrough victory in the Grade 2 Presque Isle Masters Stakes on September 19. She is getting in one more start before she goes through the ring at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. The 6-year-old mare scored a Graded stakes win over the track at Woodbine in the 2024 Hendrie Stakes (G3).
Les Reys also was a stakes winner in 2024 and she is cutting back to a sprint distance for the first time since arriving to the U.S. from France. Woodbine’s leading jockey, Rafael Hernandez, will pilot the gray filly, listed at 3-to-1.
Ohana Honor will kick off the weekend for West Point in Friday afternoon’s Grade 2 Elkhorn Stakes on the turf at Keeneland. Eclipse champ Flavien Prat will the reins. He finished an excellent second in the Tapit Stakes at Kentucky Downs last month in his first start of the year. In 2024, Ohana Honor scored a 5-length allowance win over this track and distance at Keeneland, before finishing third in the Grade 1 Manhattan.
