Best in the Breeders’ Cup last fall, Super Corredora added an Eclipse Award to her haul on January 22 when she was honored as champion 2-year-old filly of 2025.
She was right at home going straight to the front in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and at the Eclipse ceremony in South Florida, she led things off again with the first award presented on the night.
Terry Finley, founder and CEO of West Point Thoroughbreds, accepted the trophy and addressed the crowd in the ballroom at the Breakers Palm Beach hotel.
Terry said, “Thank you to [trainer] John Sadler, [assistant trainer] Juan Leyva, Adolfo Caro, this filly’s groom on the West Coast, Hector Berrios for a great ride in the Breeders’ Cup, and David Ingordo, who selected this filly at the yearling sale.
“Thank you to the West Point team for the passion and the dedication to both Partners and horses, and to the partners—each and every one of you—we say thank you. It’s an incredible ride that we’re all on, and we’re very proud to be part of your journey.
“I also want to give thanks to Super Corredora. She’s a champion now. And this is why we do what we do.”
It was deja vu for West Point and the Sadler team, back on the same Breakers stage where Flightline was honored as Horse of the Year and champion older male at the Eclipse Awards in January 2023.
Super Corredora is training away at Santa Anita Park in Southern California, preparing for a scheduled return to action in the Las Virgenes Stakes there on February 8.
A daughter of Gun Runner, Super Corredora was acquired at the Keeneland September yearling sale. She received her breaking and early training lessons with Dr. Barry Eisaman at Eisaman Equine in Williston, Florida.
