Atomic Blonde, Gal in a Rush and Integration Have Turf Missions / Friday, September 8, 2023

Atomic Blonde, Gal in a Rush and Integration carry the baton in Graded stakes action this weekend for West Point Thoroughbreds.

Atomic Blonde has shipped north to Toronto to pursue a breakthrough in Saturday’s Canadian Stakes (G2T) at Woodbine. The track’s leading jockey, Kazushi Kimura, has the mount for trainer Christophe Clement. Imported from Europe at the end of last year, Atomic Blonde has hit the board in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay and Grade 3 Orchid already this season.

Christophe also trains Gal in a Rush, who carries two straight wins into Saturday’s Grade 2 Ladies Turf Sprint at Kentucky Downs. Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride.

Integration made a big splash at Colonial Downs last month, storming to a 6 1/2-length debut win, and now he jumps into the deep end in Saturday’s $500,000 Virginia Derby (G3T). Shug McGaughey trains the son of Integration for West Point and Woodford Racing. Kendrick Carmouche will take the reins.
