Flightline took a big step toward the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) in a six-furlong workout on Saturday at Santa Anita.
Officially the undefeated colt was clocked in 1:11 4/5 and he galloped out seven furlongs in 1:24 and a mile in 1:38 3/5.
“Perfect,” said trainer John Sadler. “It was another routine work from him. He always works the same and we’re not looking to do anything different from what we’ve been doing. Just a nice steady work pattern.
Flightline has one more drill scheduled for the Great Race Place before flying off to Kentucky on October 23 to complete his preparations for the $6-million finale on Saturday, November 5 at Keeneland.
