Causforcelebration Takes WPT’s First Race of Year in Maryland / Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Causforcelebration lived up to his name on Monday, nailing down a maiden win on the grass at Laurel Park.

Julien Pimentel guided Causforcelebration, who was pounded down to 1-to-2 odds after finishing a close second at Tampa Bay Downs in his previous start. He has been in the top three in 6 of 8 races since joining the Fair Hill-based barn of trainer Kelly Rubley.

Causforcelebration was West Point’s first runner of the year in Maryland, which resumed live racing at Laurel on May 30 after a two-month shutdown due to COVID-19.
