Flightline worked for the first time since the Pacific Classic, cruising through a half-mile in 48 (4/42) on September 24 at Santa Anita. He is right where John Sadler wants him to be, with a circle around the $6-million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) run at 10 furlongs on Saturday, November 5 at Keeneland.
John said, “It was a really nice work and he came out it great. He is doing unbelievably well. We’re moving right ahead to the Breeders’ Cup!”
John noted his champion filly Stellar Wind had similar spacing in between races in 2015 when she won the Torrey Pines Stakes by open lengths at Del Mar and traveled to the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland, finishing second by a neck in the Distaff (G1). John said, “She should have won, she was second in a long inquiry. I think the Del Mar form holds up well there.”
Flightline is scheduled to breeze again Saturday morning, October 1.
