Gal in a Rush has raised her game to a new level in two races on the synthetic track at Woodbine in Toronto, and now she has the chance to cash in with Grade 2 honors and $300,000 on the line Friday night in the Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The 5-year-old mare is 5-to-2 on the morning line, drawn toward the outside with post 8 for jockey Dylan Davis to negotiate for trainer Christophe Clement.
Gal in a Rush captured the Grade 3 Hendrie Stakes at Woodbine in July in her first-ever try on a synthetic surface. She had a tough beat there with a difficult trip as the favorite in the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes on August 24, finishing second by a neck.
West Point will be bidding for its 18th stakes win of 2024 and Davis has been an active participant in that, topped off by Carson’s Run’s Grade 1 win for Clement in the Saratoga Derby.
