Gal in a Rush Rolls at Saratoga on Friday / Saturday, August 12, 2023

Gal in a Rush roared home Friday afternoon at Saratoga for her second straight win, sweeping from last to first with a confident ride from Flavien Prat.

The 4-year-old filly had scored going seven furlongs at Belmont last time out and deftly handled the cutback to 5 1/2 furlongs Friday in the shortest race of her career. Christophe Clement trains the daughter of Ghostzapper, who has placed in three stakes.

Gal in a Rush races for West Point, Chris Larsen and Titletown Racing Stables.

West Point also notched a turf win Friday on the West Coast with Storming Machine, who aced his first start of the year in a maiden special weight at Santa Rosa in Northern California.

Evin Roman guided Storming Machine, who vanned up from Southern California as trainer John Sadler sensed that the gelding was sitting on go but had no suitable race at Del Mar.

West Point campaigns Storming Machine in a racing partnership with Michael Talla and Pine Racing Stables.
