Giza Goddess Goes for the Grade 1 Gamely / Friday, May 22, 2020

Giza Goddess, already a stakes winner for trainer John Shirreffs, will be competing at the highest level of racing on Memorial Day when she tackles the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes at Santa Anita.

Giza Goddess finished fourth in the Grade 1 American Oaks on December 28 in her most recent start. Victor Espinoza retains the mount on the gray filly in the 9-furlong Gamely. Victor won the Gamely in 2016 with the gray filly Hard Not to Like, not to be confused with West Point’s current Grade 1 with Shirreffs, Hard Not to Love.

Giza Goddess and Hard Not to Love are both 4-year-old fillies purchased as yearlings. Hard Not to Love is slated for action next weekend in the Grade 2 Santa Maria Stakes on Sunday, May 31 at Santa Anita.
