Jungle Warfare sat way back early and came flying late with a big assist from jockey Joel Rosario on Friday at Churchill Downs as they recorded their second straight win together.
The 5-year-old gelding trailed the field behind a hot, contested pace and commenced a strong drive going into the second turn, making up about 11 lengths in all in his fourth career triumph. He and Rosario came to Churchill off a victory in similar late-running fashion on April 25 at Oaklawn Park.
A consistent hard-trier, Jungle Warfare has finished in the top three places in 20 of his 25 career starts. He has earned $251,987, an aptly-named warrior for his proud West Point Partners.
