Hard Not to Love Lands Third Win in Four Starts / Friday, October 25, 2019

Hard Not to Love returned from a break in razor sharp fashion on Friday at Santa Anita, notching her third win in four career starts.

The 3-year-old filly has one eye and Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith proved to fit her perfectly.

Mike’s worked this filly in the mornings a few times, know she is very mentally sensitive, and really was considerate about how to give her a positive experience.

The filly was quite keyed up in the paddock. Her crew got her settled down, Mike got on, and talked to her the whole way out to the track.

The rest of the field went right at the end of the tunnel, Mike went left. He took his time with her and took her behind the gate to let her take it all in before loading.

After stumbling at the break, Mike did not panic and the filly settled beautifully for him. Truly a masterful ride.
