The West Point team landed a colt with the look of a future star, by Constitution, one of the most influential stallions to emerge in recent years. Constitution captured the Florida Derby (G1) and Donn Handicap (G1) during his racing career, but it’s in the breeding shed that he has truly excelled. Already a leading sire in both North and South America, he is responsible for 77 stakes winners, including Belmont Stakes hero and Travers (G1) winner Tiz the Law, and Breeders’ Cup Classic contender Mindframe, who has earned nearly $1.9 million to date. Constitution has built his reputation on producing classic-distance colts with both brilliance and staying power.
The female family is equally strong. His dam, Spare Cash, is by Quality Road and a daughter of Cash Control, a brilliant race mare who earned over $540,000 and captured multiple graded stakes, including the Mint Julep (G3) and Cardinal Handicap (G3).
The colt will be trained by Mark Casse, a Hall of Fame conditioner who developed champions Tepin, Classic Empire, and World Approval and grade one winners Sandman, Nitrogen, War of Will, and Catch a Glimpse, amongst others.
He is co-owned with DJ Stable, the same connections involved with Mark Casse’s graded stakes winners Sandman and Ewing.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2027.
