Into Mischief Colt

    • Sharp colt by nation’s leading sire

    • Heading to Eclipse Award-winning trainer Dale Romans

    • Out of a stakes winning Orb mare

This handsome bay colt is by one of the most dominant sires of the modern era, Into Mischief. A six-time leading general sire, and currently #1, Into Mischief has produced top runners including Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Authentic, Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Laurel River, Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) winner Gamine, and Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Pretty Mischievous. His current sons Citizen Bull (Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner), Sovereignty (Fountain of Youth winner), and Barnes are top contenders on the Kentucky Derby trail.

The colt’s dam, Whoa Nellie (by Orb), was a talented black-type winner with six victories, including two stakes. She also placed in graded stakes, finishing second in the Bayakoa (G3) and third in the Chilukki S. (G3), earning $353,830.

He’s bred on a similar cross to no less than 11 graded stakes winners, including Pretty Mischievous, Atone, and Newgate.

He will be trained by Eclipse Award winner Dale Romans, a G1-winning conditioner known for developing top-tier colts, including Shackleford, Keen Ice, Roses in May, and Kitten’s Joy. He currently trains promising 3-year-old colts Maui Strong (bound for graded stake at Keeneland) and Sorcerer’s Silver for West Point.

“He’s a beautiful, medium-sized colt with a tremendous amount of class,” said Terry Finley. “Dale saw him several times during sale week and loves him. Watching the breeze, he has low, smooth, efficient action. With this kind of pedigree, it’s exciting to think about the possibility of him being on the Derby trail this time next year.”

Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2026.
