West Point Purchases Minority Interest in Always Dreaming / Monday, March 20, 2017

Saratoga Springs, NY (March 20, 2017) — Siena Farm and West Point Thoroughbreds have purchased a minority interest in promising 3-year-old colt Always Dreaming, St. Elias Stable’s Vinnie Viola confirmed March 20.

Trained by Todd Pletcher and owned by MeB Racing Stables LLC, Brooklyn Boyz Stables, Viola Racing Stables, and St. Elias Stables LLC, the son of Bodemeister is under consideration for the $1,000,000 Xpressbet.com Florida Derby (G1) on April 1 following a win in an allowance race on March 4 at Gulfstream.

“Always Dreaming is a budding superstar and won his last two races in the easiest of fashions,” said Finley. “We want to thank the Bonomos and the Violas — this is an extraordinary opportunity for our partners to experience the magic leading up to the Kentucky Derby.”

“There was buzz about Always Dreaming all winter because his works were so impressive,” said Siena Farm Chairman Anthony Manganaro. “Bodemeister ran one of the gutsiest races of the modern era in the Kentucky Derby, and there’s significant stamina influence on the dam’s side, so we’re optimistic the colt will continue to blossom as the races get longer.”

Kentucky-bred Always Dreaming is out of the In Excess mare Above Perfection and is a half -brother to grade one winner Hot Dixie Chick.

Consigned to the 2015 Keeneland September yearling sale by Dromoland Farm, Steve Young, agent purchased the colt for $350,000.
