The son of Soaring Empire soared past 13 others to cross the line six lengths in front in a Florida-bred maiden special weight on Thursday at Gulfstream Park. He looked incredible in the paddock and post parade and delivered as TVG analyst Caton Bredar’s paddock pick.

The son of Soaring Empire soared past 13 others to cross the line six lengths in front in a Florida-bred maiden special weight on Thursday at Gulfstream Park. He looked incredible in the paddock and post parade and delivered as TVG analyst Caton Bredar’s paddock pick.
Trainer George Weaver was thrilled and also a bit surprised. “He’s just a big kid who is slowly figuring things out. He can be a little lazy in the mornings but I thought the talent was there. I’m thankful to West Point and all the Partners for being so patient with him. The best is yet to come.”
It’s one thing to win by six, but to beat the third place horse by ten lengths in a 14 horse field is just plain spectacular.
Jockey Jose Ortiz, “I knew he had some talent after I worked him last week, but today’s explosion down the lane was awesome.”
Terry and Debbie Finley joined a happy group of Partners in the winner’s circle. “We have a lot of new Partners on this horse, and it was great to see people celebrating their first win,” said Terry. “Soaring Empire isn’t a household name as a stallion, but we just fell in love with this dude at the sale last year. He worked awesome and is a prime example of a good looking horse.”
