She’s Country was all business Wednesday in her career debut, vaulting to a 6-length score on the turf at Saratoga.

Leading jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. piloted the New York-bred filly, acquired this spring at the OBS April sale of two-year-olds in training. She sat just off the pace and took command in the far turn, quickly opening up daylight when Irad asked for her best.

She’s Country notched West Point’s fifth win of the Saratoga meet, joining fellow 2-year-olds Ewing (Grade 2 Saratoga Special), TDN Rising Stars Curtain Call and Intricate Spirit and 3-year-old Kyla’s Kause.
