Six Nominations for 2022 Triple Crown / Friday, February 11, 2022

Six horses from the West Point Thoroughbreds roster were among the early nominees for the 2022 Triple Crown, and two of them will be in action on Saturday.

Bourbon Ready is 7-to-2 on the morning line for his second career start tomorrow at Tampa Bay Downs for trainer Todd Pletcher. Irad Ortiz Jr. has the call in the 6-furlong maiden special weight.

Got Thunder is the 4-to-5 favorite for his first start around two turns tomorrow at Santa Anita, teaming with Flavien Prat for trainer John Sadler in the mile maiden special weight. Got Thunder has finished second sprinting in both his races (the winners were subsequent Grade 3 Southwest Stakes winner Newgrange and Wharton, who finished third in the Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes).

Other Triple Crown nominees for WPT are Giant Game, who underwent a myectomy throat procedure this week after struggling to get his full air in the Grade 3 Holy Bull Stakes last weekend for trainer Dale Romans, Red Line Overdrive (Pletcher trains), Strong Light (Romans) and Vinco (Dallas Stewart).
