Turned Aside Turns Them Back at Woodbine / Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Turned Aside turned it on and found a seam at the right time to get up for a game victory at Woodbine on Sunday.

The Grade 3-winning gelding responded to a lovely ride from jockey Kizushi Kimura, who negotiated a stalking trip along the rail as the 5-to-2 favorite and switched out to split horses in the stretch and out-finish the second- and third-choices Rockcrest and Elektronic.

Mark Casse trains Turned Aside, a 5-year-old son of American Pharoah owned in partnership with D J Stable.

Turned Aside will be a candidate for the Highlander Stakes (G2T) and Connaught Cup (G2T) on the turf at Woodbine in July. He finished second in the Grade 2 Nearctic Stakes last October at Woodbine in his only previous start with Kimura aboard.
