The longest shot on the board, Western Command relished a wet track at Churchill Downs on Saturday and blazed home to win handily underneath jockey Edgar Morales. He accounted for West Point’s fifth win of the Churchill meet, tops for all owners.
Greg Foley trains Western Command, a 3-year-old gelding who broke his maiden in February with Morales on board.
West Point’s other winners so far in the Churchill spring/summer meet have been Secret Pocket, Giant Game and King’s Ovation for trainer Dale Romans and Vahva for trainer Cherie DeVaux.
