Brigadier General landed his third career win Monday as a heavy favorite at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The 4-year-old gelding fired right back after finishing second there on August 15 as Dallas Stewart has been able to rejuvenate his confidence after his form dipped off in May and June.
Dallas said, “We’ve been experimenting with blinkers in the morning gallops to help him train more professionally. This is a good run he’s on after the poor form in the late spring/early summer. When he’s good, he’s good.”
Adam Beschizza piloted the son of Street Sense. Brigadier General was stakes-placed as a 3-year-old in 2022 and opened 2023 with a victory at Fair Grounds in New Orleans, where he will likely be headed again this winter. West Point bought him as a yearling in 2020.
