Cavalry Charge Leads Charge at Kentucky Downs / Friday, September 2, 2022

Cavalry Charge winning the Grade 3 Fair Grounds Stakes.

Cavalry Charge will take his turn with a big prize on the line Saturday, tackling the $1-million WinStar Mint Million (G3) at Kentucky Downs. He scored over the unique course and at the same distance last September for trainer Dallas Stewart.

A Graded stakes winner earlier this year at Fair Grounds, Cavalry Charge is a 5-year-old gelding raced in partnership with Rob Masiello and William Sandbrook.

Cavalry Charge is one of four runners for West Point between Saturday and Sunday at Kentucky Downs, an all-turf venue straddling the Kentucky-Tennessee border, in between Bowling Green and Nashville. The purses are gigantic for the short September meet, with Dripping Gold shooting for $750,000 in the Grade 3 Dueling Grounds Derby and Sequist for the $500,000 in the Dueling Grounds Oaks on Sunday’s card.
