County Final dug down deep and held on for a game win at Churchill Downs on Friday with a terrific rail ride from Tyler Gaffalione.

The versatile 4-year-old gelding went straight to the lead from the inside post and felt pressure the whole way but both horse and rider had enough left in the tank to get up on the wire by a head.

He is a stakes winner, Grade 2-placed and took his racing partnership to the Breeders’ Cup in 2020 when he ran well in defeat in the Grade 2 Juvenile Sprint at Keeneland.
