Gray ladies Atomic Blonde and Les Reys are poised for Graded stakes action on the turf at Keeneland for West Point Thoroughbreds and trainer Christophe Clement.
Atomic Blonde goes for her second stakes win of the season on Sunday in the $350,000 Dowager Stakes (G3) at a mile and a half. The German-bred mare will reunite with leading jockey Tyler Gaffalione, who was in the saddle for her victory in the Keertana Stakes at Churchill Downs in May. The late-running Atomic Blonde finished second last time out in the All Along Stakes at Laurel Park.
Les Reys is 1-for-1 in America, having stormed home to victory in the Winter Memories Stakes at Belmont at the Big A on September 13 in her U.S. debut. She arrived on the heels of two straight wins in France and will have Frenchman Flavien Prat in the irons for next Friday’s $350,000 Valley View Stakes (G2) for three-year-old fillies at a mile.
