Longlive the Queen proved royal in her career debut Saturday at Gulfstream, surging through the stretch to prevail handily for jockey Travis Gaffalione.
Christophe Clement trains Longlive the Queen, a New York-bred 2-year-old filly, acquired in May at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training.
Originally ticketed for a dirt debut at Aqueduct, Christophe shifted plans a few weeks ago, believing she would appreciate the 5-furlong dash at Gulfstream.
West Point owns the gray filly in a racing partnership with Lucky Hat Racing and Heather Winters.
