Scatify On Top In Career Debut at Los Alamitos / Monday, December 18, 2023

Scatify put on a show in his career debut Saturday at Los Alamitos Race Course in Southern California, fighting off a stretch challenge to secure the victory and earn an 84 Beyer Speed Figure.

The 2-year-old Justify colt won by a half-length over another son of Justify named March of Time, and they were well clear (6 1/2 lengths) of the rest of the field.

Jockey Hector Berrios guided Scatify for trainer John Sadler.

Scatify was a $120,000 purchase by West Point and bloodstock advisor David Ingordo in May at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of two-year-olds in training.

West Point also notched a maiden win Sunday in New Orleans with the 3-year-old Louisiana-bred American Dollars, who ran to the money at 4-to-5 odds for trainer Dallas Stewart and jockey David Cohen.

American Dollars scored by 7 1/2 lengths for West Point and racing partners Pearl Racing, Hall Racing, Coteau Grove Farms, William Freeman, Marc Valdes, Pine Racing Stables and John Ballantyne.

The stable’s record stands at 86 wins from 418 starts (21 percent) heading into the home stretch of 2023.
