A true Debutante stakes winner last summer, Stone Silent returns from the bench aiming for a big win on the road Saturday in the $150,000 Dixie Belle Stakes at Oaklawn.

Based at Santa Anita with trainer John Sadler, Stone Silent is listed at 3-to-1 odds for the 6-furlong Dixie Belle. Ramon Vazquez retains the mount, traveling in from Southern California, but he is no stranger to Hot Springs, Arkansas, having finished fourth in the Oaklawn standings two years ago.

West Point and racing partner Michael Talla acquired Stone Silent at the OBS March sale of 2-year-olds in training. She and Vazquez sped to a 3 1/4-length win in the Fasig-Tipton Debutante Stakes on June 18 in her only start to date, repelling even-money favorite Tom’s Regret, who had beaten males in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes at Churchill Downs in her previous start.

John has shipped in successfully to Oaklawn for more than a decade, winning the Arkansas Derby (G1), Apple Blossom (G1) and King Cotton Stakes.
