Strong Silent Looks to Be Heard in Grade 2 Raven Run / Friday, October 22, 2021

Strong Silent carries two straight wins into a big test Saturday at Keeneland in the $250,000 Raven Run Stakes (G2) for 3-year-old fillies.

The bay filly broke her maiden in her second career start on August 1 at Ellis Park and was double tough along the rail to get the best of a stretch duel at Churchill Downs on September 17.

Dale Romans trains Strong Silent, who will have regular rider Corey Lanerie in the irons again in a big field for the seven-furlong Raven Run.

Also on Saturday, Jaxon Traveler holds an entry in the Maryland Million Sprint Stakes, but he is first on the also-eligible list, needing a defection to make the main body of the race, in which preference is given to Maryland-sired horses. Jaxon Traveler is Maryland-bred but his sire, Munnings, stands in Kentucky.
