Room to Finish has been a dependabe and enjoyable horse for West Point Thoroughbreds and partners over the last three seasons. On Saturday, she nailed down a well-deserved stakes win in the $100,000 Ladies Turf on Louisiana Champions Day at Fair Grounds.
The 5-year-old mare swung out at the top of the stretch and burst to the front to prevail by a length and a half under jockey Adam Beschizza.
Room to Finish had finished second in this race last year. Saturday’s victory was her third of 2020 and seventh overall, to go along with eight second-place finishes. She has been first or second in 15 of her 20 races, earning $289,605.
