This chestnut colt from the first crop of Elite Power combines the speed of a two-time champion with one of the deeper female families in the catalog.

Elite Power was one of the dominant sprinters of his generation, winning nine races and more than $3.7 million. He captured the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) in consecutive years, along with the Alfred G. Vanderbilt (G1) at Saratoga, and this colt comes from his highly anticipated first crop.

The pedigree is already producing at a high level close up. His dam, Havin’ a Party, has produced Right to Party, who has earned more than $230,000 this year while finishing second in the Wood Memorial (G2) and third in the Gotham (G3).

There is serious depth underneath. Second dam Chimichurri was a Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed, while the family includes Canadian Horse of the Year Wonder Gadot, West Point’s Grade 1 winner Hard Not to Love, and Beholder Mile (G1) winner Secret Spice.

The mating is also particularly interesting because it is bred on a similar cross to champion and multiple Grade 1 winner Idiomatic, adding another proven high-level pattern to an already accomplished family.

He will be trained by Cherie DeVaux, whose program continues to operate at the highest level, headlined by Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes winner Golden Tempo, Breeders’ Cup winner More Than Looks, and top sprinter Englishman, along with outstanding fillies including West Point’s Vahva and champion She Feels Pretty.
