Brad Cox is a two-time recipient of the Eclipse Award for outstanding trainer, scaling the heights of racing with champions Monomoy Girl and Essential Quality and Kentucky Derby winner Mandaloun.

Brad won his first Breeders’ Cup event in 2018 with Monomoy Girl and since then has piled on seven more Cup triumphs, the most prestigious of them all coming in 2021 when Knicks Go captured the Breeders’ Cup Classic en route to Horse of the Year honors.

Cox grew up blocks away from Churchill Downs in Louisville and got involved on the backstretch as a hotwalker at an early age, moving up to an assistant’s role with long-time West Point trainer Dallas Stewart. He hung out his own shingle as a trainer in 2004.

Brad trains stakes winner Jace’s Road for West Point. The Quality Road colt competed in the 2023 Kentucky Derby.
