Miguel Clement was thoroughly prepared to succeed his father, Christophe, at the helm of the Clement Stable, although the transition occurred sooner than anyone desired or expected, with Christophe’s death in May 2025 at age 59.
Miguel came aboard as a key assistant to his father in 2017 after earning valuable and diverse experience working under trainer Hugo Palmer in England, Michael de Kock in South Africa, and in Dubai. He is a graduate of Duke University and the two-year Godolphin Flying Start program.
With the Clement stable, Miguel has been an integral part of the careers of West Point’s major stakes winners Atomic Blonde, Bandiagara, Carson’s Run, Decorated Invader, Dontlookbackatall, Gal in a Rush, Kertez, Les Reys, and Parnac.
In his first Saratoga meet on his own, Miguel registered 18 wins from 80 starts (23 percent), including Graded triumphs in the Flower Bowl, Bowling Green, Ballston Spa and Glens Falls Stakes.
